NEIGHBOURS legend Ian Smith has sparked concern after being spotted with a huge bruise on his face.

The Australian soap star, 83, shot to fame by playing the character of Harold Bishop.

While appearing on camera, he could be seen with a sore-looking bruise on the side of his face, beside his mouth

Fans were stunned by his appearance and flocked to social media

However, he’s left his fans seriously concerned after he was spotted with a gigantic blemish on his face.

Ian was speaking to local media as he attended a protest preventing the closure of a local post office.

While appearing on camera, he could be seen with a sore-looking bruise on the side of his face, beside his mouth.

Fans were stunned by his appearance and flocked to social media.

One said: “Is that Harold?”

A second commented: “What happened to Ian’s face? Hope he’s ok.”

“I hope Ian is okay,” said a third concerned fan.

Ian starred in Neighbours from 1987 until departing for good in 2009.

Over the years he’s made guest appearances and also returned for what was supposed to be Neighbours’ final episode last year.

His rep recently confirmed that he would reprise his role as Harold Bishop for the show’s reboot.

In May he was spotted on the famous set filming brand new scenes.
