NETFLIX has come under fire by fans who were left disgusted over the streaming company’s decision to show Titanic just days after the submarine tragedy.
Viewers have branded Netflix as “shameless” and “nasty” for airing the film – which told of a love story cut short after the tragic sinking of the ship in 1912 – just days after five people died in a submarine in search of the iconic wreck.

Outraged, viewers took to social media to air their fury. One said: “This is CRAZY shameless.”
Another wrote: “Netflix just couldn’t help themselves huh.”
A third commented: “They’re so nasty for this.”
However, it is unlikely that the streaming company replayed the film deliberately as it has been on and off for many years.
The film stars Kate Winslet and Leonardo Di Caprio, and was directed by James Cameron, who had visited the wreck of the Titanic on many previous occasions while preparing for the film.
The Titan submersible suffered a horrible implosion after losing contact with the surface on June 18.
But debris from the exploration was found 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic on June 22 following a frantic search.
At the time of it’s premiere in 1997, the film Titanic was the subject of ridicule as it had gone over budget by £200 million, making it the most expensive film ever made for that time.
However, in a surprising turn of events, the film held the title of the highest grossing film for the next 12 years until James Cameron’s other feature film Avatar, surpassed it.
