IT’S been more than 40 years since the first episode of British comedy staple Only Fools and Horses aired – and one of the stars looks unrecognisable since their TV debut.
After so many years have passed, many fans of the iconic BBC show have been left wondering what some of the actors have been up to since – in particular, Damien Trotter.
Famously known for sporting tacky gold chains and a grimacing smile, the naughty youngster did everything in his power to annoy his uncle Rodney.
In the classic British sitcom, Damien – played by Benjamin Smith – was the only child of Del Boy and Raquel Trotter.
After much deliberation, they decided to call their son Damien in reference to the demon child from the Omen – and he certainly lived up to his name.
Benjamin – now 31 – is completely unrecognisable almost two decades after appearing in Only Fools And Horses between 2001 and 2003.
He later earned more success as an actor when he appeared as the taunting Tegs on EastEnders in 2008.
During four episodes, his character caused complete chaos in Walford and eventually stabbed Jay Mitchell before getting arrested.
That same year, Benjamin catapulted his acting career when he played the lovable character Donny on cult E4 drama Skins.
He also appeared in other popular TV shows including Teachers, The Bill, Help! I’m a Teenage Outlaw, Misfits, Doctor Who, Holby City and Goodnight Mister Tom.
Furthermore, Benjamin went on to portray Reece Keys in his first TV movie role in Passer By alongside James Nesbitt in 2004.
His second big movie role came when he nabbed a poignant role in feature film Come Out of the Woods in 2017.
Most recently, Ben has played the part of Robbie Lennox in TV mini-series Resistance, which was shot last year.
This was the thrilling sequel series to Rebellion, which was based on the struggles faced by the Irish during the 1916 Easter Rising.
