VANESSA Woodfield has a new love interest after her near-kiss with former flame Charity Dingle.
However, Suzy Merton clearly shares a connection with another Emmerdale resident. Get the lowdown on this week’s drama.
1. Leyla’s connection to Suzy is exposed
Vanessa (portrayed by Michelle Hardwick) won’t be reconnecting with Charity anytime soon as newcomer Suzy (Martelle Edinborough) could steal her heart.
The village vet agrees to have dinner with Suzy – but her world is thrown into chaos when her phone breaks.
Unable to call Suzy to cancel, she is desperate to make it up to her the next day and dresses to the nines for a wine tasting at David’s shop.
The date goes so well that Vanessa and Suzy head to the Woolpack for another drink.

But while sparks fly, Leyla (Roxy Shahidi) interrupts them and is clearly rattled to see them together.
The Take a Vow wedding planner quizzes them on how they know each other.
Suzy suspiciously explains she met Vanessa at work, despite knowing they actually met by chance in the village.
Later on, Suzy tells a shaken Leyla she’ll be keeping her secrets.
But what are they trying to hide?
2. Marlon gets devastating news
Meanwhile in hospital, Marlon Dingle (played by Mark Charnock) continues to crawl towards a full recovery – but is it actually possible?
His loved have, in the meantime, joined forces to take care of him and lift his spirits.
A task Paddy (Dominic Brunt) takes very seriously as he sets up an Easter egg hunt, allowing Marlon to watch via video.
But the activity takes its toll on Marlon, as his fiancée Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) is shocked to find out the following day
Despite this, she’s hoping his exhaustion won’t have an impact on his consultancy meeting, later on.
However, and as many things follow suit in the Dales, nothing goes to plan.
The consultant has bad news for Marlon and Rhona.
Although she’s pleased with his progress, the consultant admits he’s not in the best place possible.
Rhona presses her for a timeline on his recovery – which only highlights her urge and her own struggle.
Could his return home be jeopardised?
3. Rhona kicks Mary out
Marlon’s health is at the centre of a new family feud as Rhona and her mother Mary (Louise Jameson) are at loggerheads this week.
As Rhona goes above and beyond to take care of Marlon and show her support, Mary confides in Faith (Sally Dexter).
She grows concerned that the stress of the life of a full-time carer will be too much to handle for her daughter.
When she arrives home from the consultancy meeting, Rhona lashes out after seeing Mary with Faith in the pub.
In Mary’s opinion, this only confirms Marlon’s move back home will only increase Rhona’s exhaustion.
This prompts her to make a horrific suggestion as she urges Rhona to reconsider her relationship with Marlon, advising her to separate.
Appalled and horrified at her mother’s insensitivity, Rhona throws Mary out.
Will the mother and daughter ever get along?
4. Cain wages war on Al (again)
More relationship drama is on the horizon in the Dales and Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) is sadly set to suffer the consequences.
The entire Dingle family have a rocky past with Al Chapman (Michael Wildman) but the businessman has an ongoing vicious feud with Cain (Jeff Hordley).
Everything begins when Chas (Lucy Pargeter) warns Belle against Al as she’s worried he may have ulterior motives to form a partnership with her.
The Woolpack landlady relays her doubts to Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) but while she knows all about Al’s underhanded ways, she has no clue that Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) is the real danger.
While Al and Belle go over their business plans, he notices Priya is upset.
She later opens up to him about her body confidence issues – and the formerly engaged couple lean in for a kiss.
Later, as Kerry grows suspicious, Al agrees with Priya that their encounter should have never happened and decide to keep it under wraps.
But an eavesdropping Cain deliberately lets slip about Al and Priya while in the Woolpack with Kerry.
All hell breaks loose and Kerry throws a pint over Al during a business meeting he’s holding with Belle.
This leads to Carrie, the client, to back out of their deal… and Belle is left devastated by her brother’s revenge.
Things go from bad to worse when Al sees a smug Cain watching the spectacle from the bar and the two men take their fight to Main Street to draw battle lines.
5. Kim makes a shocking demand
After almost losing everything, Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) thought he could finally catch a break.
But business partner and renowned Emmerdale villain Kim Tate (Claire King) has other plans and a revolt could ensue.
Kim demands that Jai steps up as manager by firing his part-time colleagues and re-hiring them on zero-hour contracts.
She offers to promote him for his troubles, but Jai is unsure whether or not to betray everyone.
Badboy businessman talks about the situation to Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and she’s stunned to hear he intends to go through with it in order to keep his job.
Laurel insists he should fight for his friends’ rights.
Later on, Kim backs Jai into a corner when she coldly reiterates that if he doesn’t do it, she’ll hire someone who will.
What will Jai do?
6. Meena gets her verdict
How will serial killer Meena (Paige Sandhu) exit the eponymous village?
Meena’s sentencing is approaching and despite deliberately staying away from court, Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) cannot distract himself.
His stepson Jacob hatches a plan and, while Meena is in court, residents gather to plant a memorial tree as they try to move past their trauma.
Meanwhile, Meena is floored when there are no familiar faces in the gallery for her sentencing.
However, her sister Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) wouldn’t have missed it for the world.
Meena notices the GP is present and is giddy.
But the smug serial killer is in for a nasty shock as she is sentenced for her crimes once and for all.
7. Noah is ready for revenge
Noah Dingle’s (Jack Downham) behaviour continues to be a cause for concern in the village.
The youngster first goes to great lengths with Chloe Harris (Jessie Elland) by buying her gig tickets, but she’s off with Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) at the first opportunity.
She later tries to cheer up Nate after a call where his former fiancée Tracy Metcalfe has admitted she is dating someone new.
Lurking in the shadows, Noah spots Chloe with Nate and looks revengeful.
