Exciting Addition for Coronation Street Fans
Former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas has officially signed up for the upcoming season of Dancing On Ice, according to sources. The 39-year-old soap star, known for his role as Jason Grimshaw, is set to hit the ice in January.
A Big Personality Takes on a New Challenge
Producers of the ITV show are thrilled with the signing, as they believe Ryan will bring a large fan base of soap fans and celebrity friends who will want to see how he fares on the ice. A telly source revealed, "He has a big personality so will make a cracking reality TV. Ryan is looking forward to the challenge of doing something different."
Engaged to Towie Star Lucy Mecklenburgh
Ryan, who is engaged to The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh, is well-known in the entertainment industry. His younger brother, Adam Thomas, is currently competing on BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing.
A Controversial Past
In 2018, Ryan appeared on Celebrity Big Brother and became embroiled in a controversy when ex-Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett falsely accused him of assaulting her. The incident received significant media attention, and Pallett was forced to apologize after Ofcom received 25,000 calls.
Other Celebrities Confirmed for the Show
Last week, ITV confirmed that iconic boxer Ricky 'The Hitman' Hatton, ex-S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt, Love Island winner Amber Davies, and actress Claire Sweeney will also be participating in Dancing On Ice. However, an ITV spokeswoman stated, "Any names are speculative as we've yet to announce our lineup."
With Ryan's addition to the lineup, Dancing On Ice is sure to be an exciting and highly-anticipated show.
