Strictly stars Janette Manrara and husband Aljaz Skorjanec have welcomed their first baby into the world
The couple shot to fame on Strictly Come Dancing
The dancing pair shared an adorable first nap of their daughter, who is named Lyra Rose Skorjanec, on Instagram today.
The couple announced they were expecting their first baby back in March.
Aljaz and Janette were engaged in 2015 and then married on July, 15, 2017.
The pair had an astonishing three weddings in various locations, including Slovenia and Disneyland, when they married in the summer of 2017.
They’d been together for six years before that.
Janette quit her job as a professional dancer on Strictly two years ago so she and Aljaz could try for a baby.
Since then she’s been made host of Strictly’s spin-off show It Takes Two.
The couple told how they were first planning on starting IVF just before Janette fell pregnant naturally.
She said she became “overwhelmed with emotion” at the 12-week scan where the doctor told them their baby is “already dancing”.
Janette previously told HELLO! magazine: “For the past couple of years we hadn’t been using protection but nothing was happening, so we thought IVF was the next best thing for us to do,” said Janette.
“I turn 40 later this year and the NHS offers really good services to women under 40.
“The doctor said that as soon as I got my period we would start injections, but my period never came.
“I know that IVF can be really strenuous on a woman’s body and there is no guarantee it will work, so to know that this little miracle just came from a wonderful night we had together is amazing.
“I think the baby decided to make Mum and Dad panic a bit before saying, ‘ok, fine, I’m coming up now.'”
