Stunned The Green Planet viewers all say the same thing about David Attenborough after episode two

THE Green Planet viewers were all in the same boat after the second episode of David Attenborough’s new series aired.

Sir David visited the world heritage site of Falling Lakes in Plitvice and, after exploring the area and its vegetation, he refused to let show bosses row him back.

Sir David Attenborough has impressed with his rowing skills

The 95-year-old proved that age is just a number with his adventurous spirit

The 95-year-old showed off his stamina after he paddled back across the Croatian lake during Sunday evening’s episode.

Proving that age was just a number, Attenborough impressed those watching at home with his rowing skills, however, some were left a little unsettled.

Taking to Twitter, one fan commented: “David Attenborough is 95-years-old and The Green Planet have got him rowing boats near waterfalls and hauling heavy underwater cameras.

“I suppose he’ll be deep-sea diving next week?”

Echoing their comments, someone else questioned: “Catching up on tonight’s The Green Planet and they have David Attenborough rowing on his own by a waterfall in the opening? The man is 95 and a national treasure.

“I’d hate to cotton-wool someone, but gosh knows what the health and safety forms looked like for that one.”

A third, meanwhile, praised the nature historian for living life to the fullest, adding: “Look at David Attenborough, 95-years-old, rowing down a huge river in South America. Marvellous.”

After delivering an introduction into some of the world’s most beautiful – and competitive – plants, BBC bosses revealed how Attenborough refused to let them take back the oars.

Show boss Mike Gunton told The Mirror: “I was with him in the boat, partly because I’m directing him but also because he’s out in the middle of the lake and I’ve got to be careful that nothing goes wrong.

“I was a rower when I was at university so I think I’m quite good, but he wasn’t having any of it.

He rowed us all the way back, about a third of a mile. I was impressed. That’s a heavy old boat.”

The Green Planet continues next Sunday at 7pm on BBC One.
