Susanna Reid slapped down a cruel Twitter troll who took aim at her weight

The comment came after the GMB anchor’s interview with Prime Minister Boris Johnson scooped huge praise

The troll directly copied Susanna, 51, into their vile slur as they wrote: “Have you put on some weight?

“You are looking very chunky.”

The ITV darling simply re-posted his message and added the comment: “Yes.”

Yet while Pier’s Morgan’s ex telly wife appeared cool, calm and collected – her fans were furious.

They raged at the troll as one wrote: “Well if it was attention you wanted!! You got it!!

“How about trying to deal with your issues instead of projecting them onto others to make yourself feel a little better
?

“Susanna you are a legend
?
.”

Another GMB fan commented on the user’s profile and added: “It’s always the ones who daren’t even show their real faces in their profile pictures that think they can attack the appearances of others. Funny that…”

A third quizzed: “What the hell made you think this was ok.”

One then warned: “Oi, don’t mess with The Reid. She’s a legend
??

Earlier this month, the broadcaster skilfully quizzed PM Boris Johnson on the cost of living crisis during the sit-down chat inside Downing Street.

It was expertly done, with Dragons’ Den star Steven Bartlett calling it a: “Masterful interview.”

One fan wrote on Instagram: “Wow, @susannareid100 what a brilliant interviewer, presenter & reporter you are. Thank you for what you do & bringing it to us all.

Another said: “Best interview yet u grill him.

A third posted: “Sterling job Susanna unmissable TV.”

It saw Susanna’s show get the highest ratings ever since former co-host Piers Morgan quit.

A peak audience of 1.3million watched Susanna, 51, seek answers from the country’s leader on the rising cost of living and what he was doing about it.

It’s been confirmed the number of viewers is the show’s highest peak audience since April 2021 – which followed former GMB co-host Piers walking off the set in an explosive row over Meghan Markle.

Susanna was live from Downing Street for the Prime Minister’s first interview for five years on Good Morning Britain, which peaked with close to a 30% share of viewers during the interview.

Between 6am and 9am the show reached 2.4million viewers.

In the blazing showdown:

  • Mr Johnson warned “very severe” inflation could send mortgage repayments through the roof
  • He slapped down calls for a windfall tax on energy giants recording record profits
  • Susanna confronted the PM on the sluggish visa scheme for Ukrainian refugees
  • The PM insisted he was an “honest” politician in a grilling on his Partygate woes
  • Susanna called Lorraine Kelly a “legend” after the PM asked “who is Lorraine?”

Susanna’s pal Piers later went on to say she “skewered him beautifully” in the hard-hitting chat.

“We all know Lorraine Kelly,” Piers told Tom Newton Dunn on TalkTV.

“I think he knows who Lorraine Kelly is, he just didn’t know what on earth was going on in that whole interview.

“I thought Susanna skewered him beautifully and he just lost his way and lost his mind as he does so often.”
