The Big Bang Theory star dealt blow as drama is axed in latest streaming shake-up

THE Big Bang Theory star Kunal Nayyar has been dealt a huge blow after his latest TV project has brutally been given the axe.

Kunal’s show Suspicion has been dumped from Apple TV+ after just one series.

The drama was an interpretation of the Israeli drama False Flag but it has failed to be picked up for any further seasons.

Kunal is most famous for his 12 year stint as Raj Koothrappali in the hit show The Big Bang Theory but his latest project marked a new direction for his acting career.

Suspicion aired between February and March 2022 and followed Kunal’s character being falsely caught up in a kidnapping plot in New York City.

Kunal played one of four Londoners who found themselves being accused of having a connection to the disappearance of 21 year old Leo.

The former Big Bang Theory star was far from the only A-list name on the cast.

His co-stars included acting great Uma Thurman, Black Mirror favourite Georgina Campbell, It’s A Sin actress Lydia West and Spooks star Robert Glenister.

Kunal previously opened up to Digital Spy about his decision to take part in the show.

He told the publication: “When Chris Long, who directed and showran, brought this to me as a potential for me to be in this, I watched False Flag then and I instantly loved it

“And I really, really have been a big fan of Chris Long because he did The Americans for FX, which I was a big fan of, so it all came to sort of fruition that way.”

He also branded another of his co-stars, Doctor Who and 2:22 A Ghost Story actress Mandeep Gill as “incredible”, saying: “She’s not only an incredible actor, she’s also just an incredible person.

“And every time we had a scene together, when she was going to be on set, everyone got really excited because she just is the kind of person who lights up every room that she’s in.”
