THE Cabins viewers threaten to switch off as they claim the contestants having their phones “ruins” the show.
The reality show gives contestants just 24 hours to find love, with prospective couples moving into a cosy lodge together and being given the choice to stay a pair or “check out” of their cabin after a day.
While lots of viewers were invested in this new batch of characters for the show – dubbed the winter Love Island – there was a huge issue for others: the phones.
Unlike Love Island, all the contestants have access to their phones and are able to call or text friends and family at any point.
Fans have taken issue with this – with many saying it breaks the flow and takes the tension away.
One person said: “Someone take their phones off them, annoying me already”
Another added: “This phone thing is going to ruin the show”
A third remarked: “For god’s sake take their phones away and make it interesting”
Fans were looking forward to the ITV2 show after failing to get their Love Island fix this summer due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Cabins – which has already been recorded – was able to go ahead after ITV put strict health and safety coronavirus protocols in place.
This included contestants isolating at a hotel while awaiting their Covid test results and any pre-show filming carried out with minimal crew, who all wore face masks and were regularly temperature checked throughout production.
Fans already had fun with the show – after pointing out that hunky Tom looked identical to Tom Hopper’s Luther from The Umbrella Academy.
