THIS Morning fans were staggered today when it was revealed hunky new host Craig Doyle was a lot older than he looked.
The star, who was a familiar face in the UK a decade ago before working in Ireland, appeared alongside Alison Hammond today.
Many viewers weren’t familiar with him and Googled who he was when the show was on air.
And several spoke about how astonished they were to learn that Craig is 51 years old.
One tweeted: “So I googled Craig. That man is never 51!”
Another wrote: “Omg are u serious. That can’t be true. Why are all the men I like in my mums age bracket.
“He is so hot, I thought maybe late 30s early 40s.”
A third said: “IDK who this fella is but Google tells me he’s 51! Gonna need your skincare regime please Mr Doyle.”
Another insisted: “Craig Doyle is looking good for 51. Hardly aged at all in 25 years!”
The presenter’s first stint was hailed by many with one viewer tweeting: “Craig and Alison are great together and Craig is a revelation!
“The new presenters are all excellent and a breath of fresh air on the show.”
Another wrote: “Don’t usually watch this, gone a bit samey, but at home on bank hol and loving Craig Doyle! Laid back and fun.. like a breath of fresh air.”
The Irish presenter took the spot on the show most often taken by Dermot O’Leary, 48.
Alison explained: “Obviously Dermot’s having a day off today. He said hello by the way.”
Craig replied: “He said I was to look out for some red flags.” She told him: “There’ll be none, OK? I’m going to be a good girl today.”
This Morning is usually hosted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield but they are given most holidays off work.
