THIS Morning’s Phillip Schofield was forced to apologise after chef Clodagh McKenna dropped the S-bomb live on air.
The sunny baker was making a elderflower and lemon drizzle cake with a with a cocktail when some spilled out of the shaker and she blurted out: “Oh s***.”
Shocked, Phillip and co-host Holly Willoughby, 40, clasped their hands over their mouths – before collapsing in hysterics.
Phillip, 57, told viewers: “She does tend to forget we are actually on the telly.”
The chef insisted: “Sorry” before adding breezily: “Oh well, it happens.”
Suggesting anyone could have suffered the same mishap, she added: “Let them be the first to cast a stone. And they will.”
Bursting into laughter again, Phillip replied: “Oh my God, I love you so much.”
However, after what seemed like a message in his ear from the bosses, he added: “We, just once more, just for compliance reasons, we apologise. We are taking it seriously.”
He added, lifting his glass: “When she started swearing I decided to start drinking quite heavily.”
It wasn’t the only clanger to crop up in the cookery segment, with Holly accidentally revealing Clodagh’s secret wedding cake.
She said: “This is so good, and you love this cake so much, you had it in your wedding cake?”
The chef replied after a pause: “Well it’s going to be in my wedding cake in August but I wasn’t going to tell anybody.”
Mortified, Holly told her: “Oh I am so sorry.”
