TOWIE bosses have confirmed the future of the hit ITVBE show is bright.
The hit show will celebrate its 12th anniversary on air next year with two huge new series.
Towie is back for two big series in 2023 – with stars including Amber Turner
It comes after doubt was thrown over the show when the Christmas special was axed.
“Rebecca Kenny-Smith, Creative Director: Current Programs at Lime Pictures said “We are so excited to bring The Only Way Is Essex back in 2023.
“Towie is truly an iconic British TV show, which has been embedded into viewers’ screens for over 30 series.
“We look forward to bringing more entertainment from the gossip and glamour capital of the UK next year.”
ITV top boss Paul Mortimer added: “After over 11 years, Towie is still going strong and remains the number one show on ITVBe.
“We’re thrilled to be welcoming back Towie in 2023, to continue to lift the lid on the lives of Essex’s most colourful characters.”
Insiders said the plans for the upcoming two series were still in the making but that it was likely the annual foreign trip would be on the cards.
A telly source said: “Towie will be back with a bang next year and bosses are planning something very special for the cast.
“The plans are still completely up in the air but its highly likely the foreign trip will be back, with some of the stars flown off to an exotic location for filming.
“Those working on the show and the cast are looking forward to a Christmas break then starting the New Year by going back to Towie.
“Fans certainly won’t be disappointed.”
Earlier this month Towie star Saffron Lempriere revealed she had been promised the show would be back for two runs.
Speaking to The Celeb Report at the star-studded Strange World premiere, Saffron said: “No Christmas special this year, which is a shame.
“I know lots of people were looking forward to it and everyone enjoys watching it.
“Don’t worry though, it just means we will be back with two very big and exciting series next year. That’s the plan.
“There’s so much going on with the return of Big Brother too, but Towie will be back with two big shows next year.”
Towie first aired in October 2010 and since then it has gone on to become one of the UK’s most popular reality shows which has spawned stars including Gemma Collins, Sam Faiers and Pete Wicks.
Reality star Saffron Lempriere previously said the show would be back in 2023
