TOWIE’S Elliott Wright is expecting his second baby with wife Sadie after dad Eddie’s tragic death and his restaurant fire.
It has been a difficult six months for the 40-year-old star, who poignantly said his late dad has “sent them an angel”.
He and 29-year-old Sadie announced their happy news in a new interview, where he shared: “I’ve probably had the worst year of my life and probably the worst I’m ever going to have.
“At the start of this year I unfortunately lost my father, and then my restaurant burned down 11 days after I buried my dad.”
Elliott went on to OK! magazine: “I’ve always been a positive person and I’m trying to look at the positives.
“I said to Sadie: ‘My dad sent us an angel’, we’re taking the positives out of that.”
Elliott’s family faced heartache when his grandparents, uncle, and dad Eddie were all hospitalised with Covid.
Tragically, Eddie lost his battle with the deadly virus in March, and was laid to rest on 15 April.
And Elliott, who is Mark Wright’s cousin, and Sadie’s exciting baby news is – understandably – bittersweet, with the former Towie star sharing: “This is the first grandchild that’s not going to have met my dad and that’s an upsetting thing for me.”
Sadie, who is four months pregnant, added: “We can now see the light at the end of the tunnel and it’s going to be great – I can feel it.”
The couple already share two-year-old son Billy, with Elliott also dad to 14-year-old Elliott Jnr., and 12-year-old Olivia from his previous marriage.
Elliott named his Spanish restaurant in tourist spot La Cala de Mijas after his daughter, and was left devastated in April when it was destroyed in a fire.
He and Sadie tied the knot in 2017, and her relationship with his two older kids is what helped to make him realise that she was “the one”.
Elliott shared at the time: “For her to embrace my kids the way she did and how my kids took to her, I just knew then that she was going to be a great mum.
“At the risk of sounding slushy, with Sadie, I just knew, and especially when I saw how much my kids loved her.
“I didn’t see the point in waiting. She’s such an incredible woman and surprises me every day – mostly in good ways.”
