VIEWERS were tonight left wanting to “vomit” after Gregg Wallace’s new show encouraged people to eat ‘human steaks”

Fans tuning into to watch his new Channel 4 show The British Miracle Meal were left sickened after it appeared to be advocating cannibalism.

During the show, the MasterChef presenter, 58, looked at how a lab was producing genetically modified meat harvested by human stem cells.

The programme covered everything from the people who were donors, to Gregg Wallace himself seen tucking into one of the “human steaks”.

He looked gleeful as he was served the gruesome piece of meat by a Michelin starred chef.

But the squeamish show did not sit well with viewers at home, and left them feeling sick.

Viewers took to Twitter to vent, with one saying: “Just switched over to Ch4 Gregg Wallace and Good Harvest steaks (grown from human flesh) – I feel sick

“This whole concept is absolutely horrendous – cannibalism in disguise. Exploiting the poor. Sick, sick, sick!”

While this one fumed: “I am actually going to vomit!”

Another was horrified: “This can’t be real! He’s eating human flesh! WTF!.”

The show was billed by Channel 4 as: “Gregg Wallace is given exclusive access to a pioneering and controversial new lab-grown ‘miracle meat’.

“Its makers claim it’s cheaper and tastier than any of its competitors, and could provide a solution to the cost-of-living crisis.”

However, luckily it was revealed that the show was in fact a spoof and was instead a darkly humorous indictment of corporate exploitation during the cost of living crisis.

Fans cottoned on to the fact that it wasn’t real about halfway through the episode, with one saying: “This is definitely a Brass Eye type of show!”

While another tweeted: “Just caught the last 5 minutes of that Gregg Wallace thing. Is this a new episode of Black Mirror?”

This fan was not happy: “Shame on Gregg Wallace. This is a sick joke.”
