LOVE Island has revealed Covid hero Ikenna Ekwonna has joined the line-up of hopefuls for 2022 series.

The Nottingham native is set to cause waves in the famous villa.

Who is Ikenna Ekwonna?

Ikenna is a pharmaceutical salesman, from Nottingham, who was working alongside vaccination company AstraZeneca during the pandemic.

The 23-year-old has admitted that he’s keen to find love in the Spanish villa after having only one girlfriend before applying for the show.

Asked what he’ll bring to Love Island, he said: “Hopefully, I’m going to bring spontaneity and excitement.

“I’m not really shy to speak to people and I don’t really care too much about what people think.”

Ikenna is hoping that his good lucks and brains will see him quickly become popular amongst the ladies on the hit ITV2 dating show.

He continued: “I’ve only been in one past relationship but now I think I’m at the age where I could find someone.

Ikenna, who worked amongst the supply chain dishing out vital Covid vaccinations to the public, also plans to spoil whichever lucky lady he secures in the villa.

He said: “I took my ex on holiday for her birthday.

“I was pretty young, maybe 19 or 20, and it was quite a lot of money to spend.”

Who is in the Love Island 2022 cast?

Love Island has confirmed the first 11 Islanders that will be going into the villa.

The names revealed so far include Indiyah Polack, Dami Hope and Paige Thorne.

Former pro footballer Michael Owen’s daughter Gemma has been announced in the line-up.

Welshman Liam Llewellyn as well as Italian stallion Davide Sanclimenti, have also joined the cast.

Tasha Ghouri, from Thirsk in North Yorkshire was revealed by The Celeb Report as the show’s first ever deaf contestant.

Completing the line up are Amber Beckford, Luca Bish, and Andrew Le Page.

When does Love Island start?

Love Island starts kicks off on Monday, June 6, 2022 on ITV2.

The first episode will be a long one, starting at 9pm and airing until 10.35pm.

After this, Love Island will air every night at the same time for an hour-long.
