Julie Andrews lends her voice to Lady Whistledown, the narrator of the series.
Lady Whistledown is the source of scandal in the programme as she publishes a ‘gossip sheet’, which shakes up London’s high society.
The new period drama is based in Regency-era London.
What else has Julie Andrews starred in?
The legendary actress is of course famous for Mary Poppins and The Sound Of Music.
The star won an Oscar for playing the title role in Mary Poppins and was also nominated for her performance in The Sound of Music.
But since then she is known for the voice of Gru’s mum in Despicable Me, the Queen in Shrek, Karathen in Aquaman, and the narrator in Enchanted.
Julie also played the Queen in The Princess Diaries and its sequel, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. opposite Anne Hathaway.
In 1997 after starring in the stage version of Victor/Victoria Julie permanently lost her singing voice when she underwent surgery to remove nodules from her throat.
Andrews was made an English dame in 2000.
When is Bridgerton on Netflix?
Netflix will give fans a festive treat as the series will arrive on the streaming platform on December 25, 2020.
This means viewers will be able to watch all the drama unfold from Christmas Day onwards.
