JULIA Donaldson’s charming children’s books are a Christmas tradition on BBC One.
And this year is no exception. A film adaptation of Zog And The Flying Doctors is coming to our screens on Christmas Day – and its got a star-studded voice cast to boot.

Lenny Henry as the Narrator
Lenny Henry is a British stand-up comedian, actor, and writer – his successful career in media spans over forty years,
He was the face of The Lenny Henry Show which aired on BBC in 1984 and showcased his stand-up talents and comedy spoofs.
The actor is also known for co-founding Comic Relief.
Hugh Skinner as Zog
You might recognise Hugh from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again – a sequel to the 2008 film which is was released in July 2018.
He also played Harry in the sitcom Fleabag.
The actor has appeared in the movie Les Miserables and the TV drama Tess Of The D’Urbevilles.
Patsy Ferran as Princess Pearl
Patsy Ferran is a West End actress.
She played Alma Winemiller in Tennessee Williams’ play Summer and Smoke, for which she won her first Olivier Award.
Ferran also starred in Three Sisters at the Almeida as Olga.
Daniel Ings as Sir Gadabout
Ings is best known for starring as Luke Curran in the Channel 4/Netflix comedy series Lovesick.
He has also starred as Matt Taverner in W1A, and has made appearances as Mike Parker in The Crown.
He also appeared in an episode of Black Mirror.
Rob Brydon as The King
Rob is a familiar face on British television.
He will be known to many as Uncle Bryn from Gavin and Stacey.
He has featured on popular shows such as Have I Got News For You, Big Fat Quiz of the Year, Top Gear and QI.
Mark Bonnar as The Unicorn
Mark Bonnar is a British actor known for his roles on shows from Taggart to Casualty and The Bill.
He has also had parts in Home Fires, Jekyll and Hyde, Undercover and New Blood.
Bonnar starred in the chilling BBC drama Apple Tree Yard.
Lucian Msamati as The Lion
Lucian Msamati has appeared in shows such as Doctor Who, Death in Paradise, and Luther.
Many people will recognise Msamati for playing pirate-lord Salladhor Saan in HBO’s Game of Thrones.
He also played John Faa in the BBC adaptation of His Dark Materials.
Alexandra Roach as The Mermaid
Roach is best known for starring as a young Margaret Thatcher in 2011 film The Iron Lady.
She also played DS Joy Freers in Channel 4 TV series No Offence.
Roach played child murderer Constance Kent in The Suspicions of Mr Whicher.
When is Zog And The Flying Doctors on TV?
Zog And The Flying Doctors will show on Christmas Day 2020.
It will air at 14:35 on BBC One.
