Who won the American Song Contest 2022?

AleXa from Oklahoma was crowned the winner of the American Song Contest 2022.

The 25-year-old won the show with her K-pop style performance of the song Wonderland in which she received 710 points.

“It felt like my brain exploded [when the results were revealed],” AleXa told Billboard after her win.

“My mother was holding onto my arm and she was crying and shaking and so I cried with her.”

AleXa performed her Alice-in-Wonderland-themed banger in a series of elaborate outfits, with colourful stage productions and intricate choreography.

“Wonderland is a very complex staging routine. If we had a scale from one to 10, this is definitely an 8.5,” she said ahead of her final performance.

“I love stunts. I love doing falling things. I’m not afraid of heights.”

The star already had a popular career as an artist in Korea, where she has over 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

In 2021, AleXa performed the national anthem for the Los Angeles Dodgers and became the first K-pop artist to host a fan meeting in the metaverse within the action-shooter game Scavengers.
