Who won Bake Off 2020?

BAKE Off has sadly come to an end for another year, but one lucky baker has been crowned winner.

The finalists were put to the test in the final show, with a set-custard signature challenge, “choccy-nut” technical and dessert tower showstopper..

Peter Sawkins is the winner of Bake Off 2020

Who won Bake Off 2020?

Peter Sawkins opened the 2020 series by bagging Star Baker – and closed it by triumphing in the final.

The accounting and finance student became the youngest ever winner of The Great British Bake Off, nabbing the title and the cake stand aged just 20.

He was the youngest contestant in the 2020 line-up – and the youngest to ever reach the final too.

The young baker was the favourite to win Bake Off with his classic combinations and technical skill.

He came second in the walnut whip Technical and received high praise for his signature custard slice.

His final showstopper was a triumph to look and despite elements letting him down it was enough to land him the Bake Off title.

He was this series’ first Star Baker – way back in cake week – and won the accolade for the second time in the semi-final after impressing the judges.

He even won a Hollywood handshake in the signature bake for his elderflower savarin.

Who were the other Bake Off 2020 finalists?

Dave

Dave Friday was in the running to be crowned winner but narrowly missed out

Armoured guard Dave Friday went from strength to strength in the competition.

He was awarded star baker in biscuit week, after being accidentally sabotaged by Sura in the first episode.

Dave impressed in the semi-finals after creating an incredibly precise cube cake in the showstopper challenge.

During the final the judges even admitted it was a very close competition between him and Peter, with Dave just missing out on being crowned winner.

Laura

Laura Adlington had a few bumps along the way but made it to the final

Laura Adlington, from Gravesend, has been baking since the age of eight, but she only realised her flair and talent for it a few years ago.

She is a digital manager but has impressed with her baking expertise.

Laura loves citrus and strong flavours and enjoys putting a modern twist on old classics.

Unfortunately, she had a few bumps along the way – who can forget her ice cream cake melting.

She also had a bit of a nightmare during the final when her custard pastry failed to set.

Laura then came last in the Technical Challenge and although her Showstopper didn’t look the best it was faultless on taste.

When was the Bake Off final?

The tenth episode, and final, of Bake Off aired on Channel 4 on November 24, 2020.

All episodes are now available to watch on All 4.
