THE royal family is usually the picture of elegance and poise during public engagements.
But the same can’t always be said for the youngest and most adorable members of the family, who occasionally have been spotted being rather naughty during events.
Like most kids, some of the younger royals have decided to have some playful fun when they are supposed to be on their best behaviour.
From sticking tongues out to playing pranks at school, the mischievous youngsters have won our hearts on numerous occasions.
Here are some of their naughtier moments…
Princess Charlotte sticking her tongue out
It’s safe to say that Princess Charlotte totally and utterly stole the show at the sailing regatta in 2019.
In an adorable video, the Duchess of Cambridge encouraged her then-four-year-daughter to wave at onlookers in Cowes, Isle of Wight – but the princess had other ideas and cheekily stuck her tongue out instead.
The sweet footage – which was uploaded to Instagram by InStyleMagazine – was praised by royals fans, with parents relating to Kate’s “fantastic response”.
Prince William’s cheeky pinch
Although he always is the picture of professionalism now, Prince William certainly had a cheeky streak growing up.
The young heir was snapped giving his unsuspecting teacher a pinch, to the amusement of classmates.

According to Robert Lacey’s Battle of Brothers: William and Harry – The Inside Story of a Family in Tumult, the young heir was a “boisterous” child.
Robert claims William also went through a phase of pinching “female backsides”, starting with his mum Princess Diana, and later some “maids at Kensington Palace and Highgrove”.
Prince George’s wedding tantrum
After spending an hour in church, Prince George could be forgiven for feeling a little restless at his aunt Pippa Middleton’s wedding to James Matthews in 2017.
But footage of the wedding party leaving the ceremony could reveal why he received a scolding from the Duchess of Cambridge – as the adorable pageboy appeared to step on the train of the bride’s £40,000 wedding dress.
The young prince, who was all smiles earlier in the day, broke down following the ceremony at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire.
The Duchess of Cambridge appeared to be exchanging a few cross words with George as they waited to get in the car to the reception.
Prince George’s balcony antics
In 2018, Prince George stood next to his cousin Savannah Phillips for the Trooping the Colour – and the pair appeared to be having a whale of a time.
As the rest of the royal family waved to the public, Zara Phillips’ daughter playfully covered George’s mouth.
28 years earlier, Prince Harry had done the exact same thing when he placed a hand over two-year-old Princess Beatrice’s mouth during The Queen’s birthday celebrations.
Princess Beatrice grabbing Fergie’s hat
A young – and very sweet – Princess Beatrice also was very playful on the Buckingham Palace balcony, this time in 1990.
While the royals marked the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, little Bea decided to take the opportunity to grab mum Fergie’s hat off her head.
The comical scene causes a nearby Princess Diana to giggle.
Princess Charlotte’s airport meltdown
Travelling with children is rarely easy, and Kate was on hand to help Princess Charlotte when she had a mini meltdown on the run in Hamburg.
The kind mum was seen speaking down to her at her level and using a raised finger to show she was not messing around.
And it seems her technique worked as Charlotte quickly settled down during the visit.
Prince Harry’s tongue-poking
It seems that sticking tongues out runs in the family, as a young Prince Harry also did it on the royal balcony.
Princess Diana could be seen carrying her playful son as he entertained the crowds during the event.
We shared how William was known as His Naughtiness when he was little and would stick his tongue out at people.
We shared how William revealed son George went LITTER PICKING and was ‘annoyed’ by how much rubbish he found.
And Prince William was almost given another name which Prince Charles had heart set on & it now belongs to close relative.
