Next week on Coronation Street, Paul Foreman, played by Peter Ash, faces a potentially dangerous situation as he collapses alone on the cold street. Paul has been finding it increasingly difficult to cope with his motor neurone disease symptoms, and this setback is another blow to his already challenging situation.
Paul's Battle with Motor Neurone Disease
This year, Paul Foreman received a devastating diagnosis of motor neurone disease (MND), a life-shortening condition. He has been struggling to cope with the initial symptoms and has come to terms with the fact that he will eventually lose control of his body as the disease progresses.
Throughout this ordeal, Paul has received support from his loved ones, including his fiance Billy Mayhew played by Daniel Brocklebank. He has also formed a connection with a woman named Shelly who is also suffering from MND.
A Letter from the Palliative Nurse
As Paul's health deteriorates, he receives a letter offering an appointment with a palliative nurse. Although Paul tries to make light of it, Billy becomes concerned that he's bottling up his feelings. Discussing it with Shelly, Paul realizes the gravity of her condition.
Refusing to Accept His Body's Decline
In later scenes, Paul's condition worsens, and he struggles to walk. When Billy suggests he try using a wheelchair, Paul adamantly refuses, unable to accept that his body is progressively shutting down.
Paul Makes a Discovery and Falls
While noticing Bertie Osbourne's new tablet, Paul becomes suspicious and catches Bernie Winter red-handed with a load of electronic goods addressed to Shelly. Bernie explains that she's trying to make money to buy the necessary equipment for Paul's care. Paul reveals Bernie's scheme to Billy and plans to confront Shelly and put an end to it. However, as he heads to Shelly's flat, Paul trips and falls, crying out for help with no one around.

As his life hangs in the balance, the question remains: Will Paul be able to find the help he needs?
