Jake Quickenden has revealed he wants to present the ITV skating competition

Following his resignation, speculation has been mounting on who will replace him and front the skating competition with Holly Willoughby.

And now Jake Quickenden – who won the series in 2018 with his pro partner Vanessa Bauer – has revealed he wants the gig.

When asked who should take over from Phillip, the former X Factor star told The Celeb Report Online: “To be fair, I wouldn’t mind doing it myself.

“I’ll throw my name in the hat. I’ve won it, so I might as well present it.

“I’d give it a go, who knows how I’d feel but yeah if the call came I’d do it.”

While speaking at an event in London hosted by Press Box PR, Jake added how TV execs should give upcoming presenters a chance at hosting big shows such as DOI.

He said: “There’s a lot of presenters out there, I think when it comes to presenting, a lot of these shows are sort of given to old hands.

“I think sometimes it would be nice to see new presenters come along and give it a go.”

Meanwhile, insiders at Dancing on Ice have revealed Holly Willoughby will return to the show.

There had been fears she would walk away following the controversy with Phillip but has now reportedly indicated to bosses it’s ‘business as usual’.

The Celeb Report exclusively revealed how bosses on the skating show have approached Jesy Nelson for the next series.

Producers are said to be ‘desperate’ to sign up the former Little Mix star, in a move that could reboot her showbiz career.
