Hollyoaks Star Seeks Medical Help
Hollyoaks star, Ross Adams, recently rushed to the hospital after experiencing a worrying health scare. The actor, known for his role as Scott Drinkwell on the Channel 4 soap opera, shared a photo of the hospital on his social media account and explained that he had been having problems with his voice.
Relieved to Be Okay
Adams expressed his relief, stating, "I’ve had some problems with my voice for a while. It’s been worrying me a lot, but today I went here and I can finally say that I’m fine. Just wanted to explain why I’ve been quiet." The 41-year-old actor also mentioned that his mother accompanied him to the hospital for moral support.
Battling Health Anxiety
This is not the first time Adams has faced health concerns. In 2018, he believed he had a brain tumor after researching his symptoms online. He even feared that he would only have a few months to live. However, he later discovered that he was suffering from a form of hypochondria known as health anxiety.
Getting the Help Needed
Following his diagnosis, Adams underwent eight sessions of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and participated in combined sessions of hypnotherapy, timeline therapy, and neuro linguistic programming. These treatments have helped him gain control over his health anxiety. He now feels equipped to manage and live in the present moment without constant worry about the future.
Love and Support
Outside of his health journey, Adams shares a beautiful home with his husband Phil in Manchester. The couple tied the knot in a ceremony surrounded by their loved ones, two years after becoming engaged during a romantic holiday in New York in 2016.
