I was on Celebrity MasterChef and was terrified I’d burst into tears at any moment

Drag Race UK star Kitty Scott-Claus has admitted she was initially terrified she was going to get shouted at for her cooking mishaps on the hit BBC One programme.

Kitty took part in the latest edition of Celebrity MasterChef, fronted by John Torode and Gregg Wallace, where she managed to impress the judges and her fellow celebs and made it all the way to the semi-final.

The star admitted she was initially terrified of taking part in the show

Speaking exclusively to The Celeb Report, Kitty confirmed she had initial fears about what it would be like to take part in the high-octane reality show and how John and Gregg would react to her skills.

The star said: “I remember going into it thinking you see chefs on TV don’t you, and you’re like, ‘right this is what it’s going to be like, I’m going to get shouted at’ and I remember thinking if they shout at me, I’m just going to burst into tears and cry.”

However, the drag favourite revealed it could not have been further from the truth and John and Gregg helped to support her..

Kitty said: “They we’re so lovely and so encouraging.

“What I loved is that they wanted you to do well because at the end of the day they want to eat good food.

“I have the highest regards for them, I love them so much.”

Kitty admittedly had a crush on John during her time on the show and joked: “I love my John Torode. I’ll be his next wife, sorry Lisa.”

John married former Celebrity MasterChef winner Lisa Faulkner after they met on the show and they now front their own show, John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen, together.

Kitty also revealed that contestants on the show do not receive any outside help or interference from producers.

She said: “Oh my god, I wish there was a secret cookbook as that would have made it so much easier!”

Kitty was speaking to The Celeb Report ahead of her involvement in Tu’s new body positivity campaign, Tu & Me,  where she will help to lead a series of classes promoting body confidence through fashion while offering tips on how to boost self-esteem through movement and dance.

Attendees at the classes will then be put to the test in the UK’s first ever moving fitting room.

Chatting about the ‘game-changing’ event, Kitty said: “It’s so important to be happy with the skin that you’re in.

“What I say is what makes you individual is your biggest superpower and the fact I get to be involved in this and spread the love and the positivity – I feel so passionate about it.”

Kitty added: “For me as a drag queen, whatever kind of clothes I put on, I become that character so when I was doing MasterChef, I wore a little chef’s outfit and in my head I was like ‘well, I’m a chef now, I can do this’”.

Kitty will be on the stage offering her tips and tricks and raising people’s spirits as they take to the travelator of the moving fitting room to see their clothes in action.
