A Sky News star has announced she's taking a break from screens after signing off from her final show. Leah Boleto, who previously hosted the BBC's Newsround programme, had been hosting Sky News' Breakfast show while Kay Burley is away. Fans of the 24-hour rolling news channel flooded Leah Boleto with support as she dropped the news.

Leah bids farewell for the summer

Taking to social media, Leah confirmed she has left Sky News for the remainder of the summer. Sharing a studio snap with fans, she wrote: "That’s me done for the summer. Always so thankful for so many of YOU tuning in – what a ride it’s been. Stay with @SkyNews for all your breaking news needs. Catch you later."

Support and well-wishes pour in

Viewers expressed their support and well-wishes for Leah as she takes a break. In addition to Leah's break, a Sky News host, Sarah-Jane Mee, announced a huge schedule shake-up as her programme The UK Tonight takes a summer break. The show, which usually airs weeknights at 8pm, won't be back in the schedule until September.
