Is Stephen Mulhern replacing Phillip Schofield?

Stephen Mulhern has confirmed that he is "in talks" with ITV about presenting Dancing On Ice. There has been speculation that he would replace Phillip Schofield on the show, but it's unclear if his pal Holly Willoughby will continue on the series.

Fond memories of working together

Stephen Mulhern, who stepped in for Phillip Schofield on Dancing on Ice in February 2022, recently spoke to the Mail Online about his experience. He said, "I used to do the spinoff show Defrosted and when I stood in for Phil when he wasn't too well, he had Covid, I really enjoyed it and it was so lovely being back with Holly. We had a great time together plus lots of the team were the same from when I did the ITV2 show."

Nothing confirmed yet

Although discussions are taking place, Stephen Mulhern made it clear that nothing has been confirmed yet. He said, "I promise you now that nothing is confirmed but if it happens, it will be absolutely amazing... if it doesn't, look, it doesn't. I promise you I would tell you if we had it confirmed at this point."

Keeping up with the lineup

Stephen also revealed that he is keeping up with the lineup in case the opportunity to present Dancing On Ice comes his way. He said, "The lineup is the best it has been in a few years... I am keeping across the lineup, just in case. It is a huge staple, and it has been around."

Uncertainty around Holly Willoughby's future

It is currently unclear if Holly Willoughby will be joining Stephen as a co-host on Dancing On Ice. Holly recently stunned fans when she announced her departure from This Morning after 14 years on the show. She cited the need to prioritize her family's safety following a kidnap plot targeting her. The Celeb Report has contacted ITV for comment.

Wooed by the BBC

Holly Willoughby has reportedly been approached by the BBC for a big money deal. However, the BBC has backed off for now to give her some breathing space. A source said, "Holly isn't going to be signed up on an exclusive deal for the BBC - or to be the face of any of their new shows - at this moment in time. The ITV internal report into This Morning has still not been published either and the impact that could have also needs to be taken into consideration."
