The comedian issued a come-and-get-me plea to soap bosses

Talking about his new fourth series of The Lateish Show, Mo Gilligan, 35, revealed that he wants to do more acting after his role in animated movie 10 Lives, which is out later this year.

And the comedian issued a come-and-get-me plea to soap bosses.

He said: “I’m doing an animated film called 10 Lives. It’s got a really great cast – Simone Ashley [Bridgerton] and singer Zayn Malik are in it.

“This is my first taste of acting and I play a cat called Beckett.

“It’s the dream to pursue and do more acting.

“I’ll take anything. Put me in EastEnders as an extra with Winston on the fruit stall.”

Mo also threw his hat into the ring for a role in a James Bond film – but NOT as the next 007.

He said: “I’ll take Bond, but I want to be a villain.”

The comedian is hoping to land a third BAFTA for this latest series of The Lateish Show, which has been a hit with its mix of chat, music and celebrity guests.

He said: “I was able to pick one up last year for the show and in 2020 I got one for Entertainment Performance as well. I’ll take another BAFTA.

“I feel like there’s always people discovering The Lateish Show and I never assume that I’m a household name people know about.

“It’s such a pleasure having my own show and this is my baby in the sense that I’ve started it from the ground up.

“I’ve won some awards along the way and we keep making it better, so I’m really excited for it to come back.”

The Lateish Show With Mo Gilligan returns to Channel 4 at 10pm on Friday 5th May. TV Mag is free inside The Celeb Report every Saturday.
